Rebates reduce what you pay out of pocket. They do not change the consultation fee. Whether you are eligible, and for how many sessions, is decided by your GP, not by Nikki.
Services with an Accredited Practising Dietitian are eligible for Medicare rebates under a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP) or an Eating Disorder Care Plan (EDP). Your GP decides which applies and writes the referral.
Eligible appointments are rebated $61.80* per session. Nikki lodges the Medicare claim for you at the end of your appointment, and the rebate is paid into the bank account you have nominated with Medicare, usually within a few days. You pay the full fee on the day and the rebate comes back to you.
*Rebate valid as of July 2026.
Your GP decides if you are eligible and writes the referral. Once you have it, send us a copy — a clear photo of the printed form is fine.
DVA Health Card holders, Gold and White, can access dietetics services with a relevant GP referral. Ask your doctor for one, then send us a copy.
Most private health funds rebate dietetic services under extras cover. Levels of cover and rebate amounts vary between funds and policies, so check yours before your appointment.
Your fund’s app or member portal will usually show this, or you can call them. You cannot claim a Medicare rebate and a private health rebate for the same appointment.
